It worked, as in the board flew. Never caught on camera unfortunately. This version was the fourth in a series, each bigger, and better made than the previous. one. As they got higher aspect, and in theory more efficient, they got harder to control. This one was very tough on your ankles, was sensitive to stalling (cavitation) and wasn’t fast. The second, simpler version I made couldn’t fully lift a board out of the water but was sailable and made the board faster in some marginal conditions. I did some brilliant “tow testing” with a rib at Ogston with Nick Mcloed and John Dominy, comparing the drag of the different configurations. This version flew for sustained periods and showed lower drag in a straight line. I’ll add more detail and photos to this page in the next couple of days.
